“A few months ago, in a conversation with one of our Guests, a thought occurred to me: the Napoleon is a hotel that definitely, like almost all hotels, has some quality and some flaws, but it has something that few hotels have: a heart and a story.
A heart and a story, made of the same substance in the past and in the present time. Are the lives of many people who have dedicated their work, their love and their best energies to this House, and living with dormant pride the present time and the appreciation of many guests, and have found the true meaning of their work. These are the memories of so many guests, for many or a few days, they have left in our hearts, their smile and their kindness, enriching sometimes with their friendship. With all these people ideally would like to share this milestone, so far in the years of my youth, and now already behind . We waited a year because this one is actually the fifty-first anniversary. My Mother left us a few months ago, we would have wished that She was with us, but we have not been granted. That’s okay, She is and will be in our hearts. “Qualche mese fa, conversando con uno dei nostri Ospiti, mi venne in mente un pensiero: il Napoleon è un albergo che come quasi tutti gli alberghi ha delle qualità e qualche difetto, ma ha qualcosa che pochi alberghi hanno: un cuore e una storia. Un cuore e una storia, fatti della stessa sostanza, nel tempo passato e nel tempo presente. Sono la vita di tante persone che hanno dedicato il loro lavoro, il loro amore e le loro migliori energie a questa Casa, e che vivono con sopito orgoglio il tempo presente e l’apprezzamento di tanti Ospiti, e hanno trovato in questo il vero significato del loro lavoro. Sono i ricordi di tanti Ospiti, di tanti o di pochi giorni, che ci hanno lasciato nel cuore il loro sorriso e la loro gentilezza, arricchendoci a volte con la loro amicizia. Con tutte queste persone vorrei condividere idealmente questo traguardo, così lontano negli anni della mia gioventù, e ora già dietro le spalle. Abbiamo atteso un anno perché questo è in realtà il cinquantunesimo anniversario. La Mamma ci ha lasciato qualche mese fa, avremmo voluto che ci fosse anche Lei, ma non ci è stato concesso. Va bene così, è e sarà nei nostri cuori. Vi abbraccio e vi ringrazio tutti.”
